[EVS Project] Wanted : contacts from young people

Our project is still a “big baby”. After one month and a half of work in MediaGo Foundation, we have started collecting emails to build up our database.

First step : young people contacts

Objective : to collect 200 contacts of young people from European countries.
Our first reflex was to call our Facebook friends who have already lived abroad (or those who are now) for sharing their foreigner friends’ contacts. But we had also the opportunity to ask for email addresses of the EVS volunteers we had met in Várpalota.

Last week, we met a PhD guy in the Central European University in Budapest to share our project and we asked him if we can go freely inside the university to collect students’ contacts.
Then, we realised the huge task we have to do and we decided to go to a café to take a breath… and getting everything clear.
Here is the summary of our brainstorming.

How to get contacts from young people

Working on our personal network
> Contacting international friends of our friends on Facebook
> Collecting emails from young people we recently met
Asking all of them to let their friends know about our project

Working on a paper which explains our project
> We have to make it attractive
> We can put it up on walls of universities or on Erasmus Facebook groups

We have to contact organizations
* House of Europe
* CEU : students clubs (media, communication field)
* Babel Café
* Finding a “polyglot café”

> Asking for a meeting
> Finding a leisure activity for each organization (something we can suggest or exchange with them)

Collecting emails outside
* MediaGo interns (asking for their contacts)
* Into the café of the big library
